New jobs and community facilities The Wharves Deptford will deliver new workspace for local business, including a new and expanded bespoke facility for the Ascott Cab Company in a first phase. Additional business space is proposed in the form of a flatted factory alongside the Oxestalls Road bridge at the north of the site. A number of new community facilities are provided including a health centre and a new local hub on Grove Street. Local retail offers are proposed along Grove Street. Bars, restaurants and leisure uses will arrive in later phases. The retained Victoria Public House will be refurbished and brought back to life in its original use.Through community engagement, we have met a great number of individuals and groups both motivated and interested in the local area. We hope to continue this collaboration and develop their aspirations as the scheme is realised. We will continue to work with local groups to help improve and build on the existing community facilities, as well as providing new and complimentary facilities as identified. We are also working towards establishing an autonomous and viable community trust that will support community enterprise and deliver future community projects. |
