Welcome to the Wharves Deptford The Wharves Deptford will see the redevelopment of an underperforming and inefficiently used site in South London, occupied for the most part by low quality commercial buildings, storage and open service yards, including a scrap yard. The site currently offers no amenity to local residents and will be transformed into a genuine mixed-use area. This will include new homes, public realm, employment opportunities, better links to transport and community facilities accessible to all, kick starting the regeneration of North Deptford. The scheme proposals have been developed through extensive engagement with the London Borough of Lewisham, other statutory bodies such as CABE and the GLA, key stakeholders and the local community. The result is a shared vision for a high quality development integrated within the local context and socially, economically and environmentally sustainable. It will lead to the regeneration of the wider area and bring further community benefit. The plans were submitted for Planning Approval to the London Borough of Lewisham on the 18th December 2009. The Council will be carrying out statutory consultation with key stakeholders and local residents during February 2010. A date for the plans to go before Lewisham's Planning Committee is yet to be confirmed although it is currently anticipated that this will be some time in the near future. The website provides an overview of the scheme and consultation and allows you to download the planning application documents directly. Should you have any queries, or wish to understand how you can respond to the plans, you can contact us by email at info@thewharvesdeptford.com Alternatively, the full planning application is available to view during office hours at the Lewisham planning information office; Planning information service |
